About 3rd Eye Watching | Black Woman-Owned Firearms Academy
3rd Eye Watching was founded out of a necessity that I couldn't find addressed anywhere else. In an industry predominantly dominated by men, most firearms training is provided from the standpoint of law enforcement or military officials.
However, as a Black disabled woman, civilian, and survivor of domestic violence and sexual assault, I bring a unique perspective to the table. These experiences allow me to connect with my students on a deeper level.
At 3rd Eye Watching, we believe it is crucial for minorities, women, LGBTQ+, elderly, survivors of domestic violence and disabled individuals to have representation not just among our instructors but also in our participants. We provide a safe space where their questions can be asked without fear of judgement. With the education and training that I provide, our students leave feeling empowered, confident, and better equipped to decide on what works best for their specific needs and abilities.
While we are open to teaching anyone interested in firearms and self-defense principles, our mission is to EDUCATE, TRAIN & EMPOWER those who are often overlooked, underrepresented or misjudged within our communities—giving them the knowledge, tools & confidence they need to DEFEND themselves & their loved ones.
Not everyone wants or can carry a firearm and that's okay. Allow us to educate you on all your self-defense options.

Hello, my name is Nakita Price. I'm a wife and mother of 4 children & 2 grandchildren.
I was born and raised in South Sacramento's Oak Park neighborhood. I graduated from Hiram W. Johnson High School. I have an Associate of Science Degree in Criminal Justice with an emphasis in Police Studies from Kaplan College and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Criminology and Criminal Justice from Portland State University.
My journey into personal safety, self-defense education, and community empowerment was not born from fear — it was born from survival, healing, and the decision to reclaim my voice.
Like many women, I have experienced the devastating impact of domestic violence and sexual assault. Those experiences changed my life in ways that are difficult to put into words. For a long time, I struggled with fear, trauma, self-doubt, and the emotional weight that comes with trying to heal while still navigating everyday life.
Living with disabilities added another layer to that journey. There were moments when I felt unheard, overlooked, and disconnected from the strong, confident version of myself I was trying to find again. Healing was not quick or easy. Therapy became an important part of my recovery, helping me process trauma, rebuild my confidence, and learn that my experiences did not define my worth or my future. Over time, I realized something powerful: survival can become purpose.
I created 3rd Eye Watching to help others feel empowered, informed, and prepared — especially women who may feel vulnerable, unheard, or uncertain about their ability to protect themselves. My goal is not to promote fear, but to provide education, awareness, confidence, and practical tools that help people feel safer and more in control of their lives.
At 3rd Eye Watching, I strive to create a supportive and judgment-free environment where people can ask questions, learn at their own pace, and build confidence without intimidation. I understand what it feels like to start from a place of fear, and that understanding shapes how I teach, support, and connect with others.
This business is more than training and products to me — it is part of my healing journey and my way of giving back to the community. If my story helps even one person feel less alone, more prepared, or more empowered to reclaim their own voice, then sharing it is worth it.
Healing is possible. Confidence can be rebuilt. Your voice matters.
